SAJA Freelance Forum
Connecting editors with freelancers in South Asia and North America

updated: Nov. 1, 2004

SAJA frequently gets requests from editors and media outlets looking for freelancers/fixers/videojournalists/photographers located in both South Asia and in U.S. & Canada. This FREE service helps with such requests. It provides links to available freelancers and limited information about writers and publications. Freelancers can add themselves automatically and the media outlets can see the updated listings anytime they wish.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • SAJA does NOT take responsibility for the interaction between the editors and the freelancers, nor does SAJA vouch for either the editors or the freelancers. This is merely an information/connection service. It is the responsibility of both parties to check out the skills/background of the other.
  • There is no charge for freelancers in SOUTH ASIA to add themselves to the listings, or for editors to see the listings. Freelancers who are based in NORTH AMERICA MUST be paid members of SAJA to add their details (see info below).

A testimonial from Harper's Magazine: "With the help of SAJA, I was able to find a freelance journalist for a specific project in India in a matter of hours. In addition to this, I now have a list of freelance contacts in India for future reference. All of the journalists who responded to my request have excellent and diverse qualifications. SAJA has helped me tremendously." - Michelle Mounts, Harper's Magazine, New York, Nov. 2004
