Navigation conceptNear the end of 2004, the executives of saja.org commissioned a new iteration of the site. The focus was placed on organization and navigation. Here is a brief idea of the reshuffle:
The top menu is your main menu. It takes you to all the section frontpages [six]. It stays the same throughout the site. If the section name is boldfaced, it means you are presently in that section [or you are mousing over the word!] The flyout menu is there to make life a bit easier. Still, if you know saja.org, you know that there is a lot more content within this space. Either click on the section name and check out the page to see what else is there, or you can try googling [see top menu] for your search.
The left rail has a contextually sensitive menu. For instance, if you are in the 'Events' section, the left rail for all 'Events' pages will have the same menu. That menu will probably be "events-centric". Therefore, the six main sections will each have their own left rail menu. The menu is alphabetically listed, and listed pages were chosen based on frequency of usage.
The right rail, where applicable, consists of an anchored menu for those especially long pages. Or sometimes, it is used as a summary for the page.
That's about it. We would love to hear your praises or your woes.
