Job Fair

Meet and network with human resources representatives and hiring managers from major companies in both print and broadcast. Bring resumes, writing samples, and reels while attending the job fair. Only convention participants will be allowed to attend the fair. This year's job fair will be walk-ups only, there will be no appointments allowed. The following companies will be present at this year's fair:

Important: SAJA and Journalismnext.com have partnered for the upcoming SAJA convention. If you are planning to attend the fair, please put your resume in the special resume databases JournalismNext.com has created for the convention. Print journalists can post their articles and broadcasters can upload their reels on this site. Employers will be able to pull up your resume before the job fair begins.

Putting your resume to the database is easy. Just follow the directions below: 
 
1) Go to www.journalismnext.com/userlogin.cfm
2) Log In
3) Select 'YOUR RESUME'
4) Click 'EDIT'
5) Select 'YES' when asked if you will be attending the “2011 South Asian Journalists Association (SAJA) National Convention.”
6) Insert your new resume or edit an existing resume. Fill in your information and update/activate it.
7) Forgot your log in? Go to www.journalismnext.com/userlogin.cfm, add in your email address and it will be sent to you.

Mentoring Sessions at the SAJA Job Fair
Saturday, June 18
Do you have questions that only someone in the journalism profession can answer? Do you need to discuss problems that you may be having with your career while searching for a new job? Registered convention members will be able to gain access to professionals in the industry. Whether you are in broadcast, print or new media, bring resumes, cover letters, writings samples, and reels for our experts to look over and give you helpful advice on your next step. 

Sessions will only be 10-minutes long per person, so please be prepared with questions and materials. There will be an advanced notice a week before the convention to sign up for the session. More information coming soon. Please make sure you are registered for the SAJA convention.
