| MONIKA MATHUR has been a News Researcher for the Associated Press since October 2000 and works at the company's headquarters in New York City. Having expertise using various information resources, she collaborates with AP reporters and editors throughout the U.S. and abroad to enhance their news content. She's responsible for backgrounding people, companies, and issues in the news.
She started her career as an intern at the Bergen Record writing weekly profiles of outstanding high school students and worked her way to the postion of Assistant Specialist in their Computer Assisted Reporting department where she helped write stories after analyzing relevent data.
She holds a B.A. in Communications with a concentration in Journalism from William Paterson University in Wayne, N.J.
Monika was born in India and lives in New Jersey.
