She is a former business reporter for The Virginian-Pilot and an associate editor and reporter for The Washington Post Co.'s technology magazines.
Coordinator for the District of Columbia chapter of the South Asian Journalists Association, Vandana received SAJA's annual scholarship to the Wharton Seminars for Business Journalists in 2003.
She holds degrees in journalism and government/politics from the University of Maryland at College Park and is secretary/treasurer of the Maryland Media Inc. Alumni Association.
