Bay Area Chapter of the South Asian Journalists Association

************************************************************************

The Bay Area Chapter of the South Asian Journalists Association serves more than 150 journalists throughout nine Bay Area counties. Money raised through event participation is used to support scholarships that help students pursue careers in journalism. Offering a variety of programs, the Bay Area Chapter is empowering Bay Area journalists by providing a platform for networking, sharing best practices, learning new skills and becoming role models for our next generation.  Bay Area SAJA members are made up of: reporters, editors, photojournalists, bloggers, broadcast and radio personalities, book authors, educators, students, and those interested in journalism personally or professionally.

Our events include social gathering, learning opportunities, partnership events with other like-minded organizations, and tours of local news rooms or a point of interest for journalists.

As an all-volunteer organization, we are always looking for Bay Area residents to help with events, outreach and other membership driven tasks.  If you are interested in helping the Bay Area Chapter, please contact Diana Rohini LaVigne at Lavigne@post.harvard.edu.
