The Advertising Partnerships team is responsible for cultivating opportunities across The Atlantic’s platforms, including print, display/sponsorship, custom content, live events, podcasts, and programmatic. The ideal candidate has previous sales experience within the financial services category, is smart, ambitious, and naturally curious, and has a conviction that high-quality journalism is fundamentally important. The Director, Partnerships will be an integral part of the sales team and reports directly to the VP of Partnerships.
Maintain and cultivate strong, senior level relationships across multiple divisions directly through the client and client agencies.
With a focus on integrated selling, develop and deliver winning, cross-platform proposals and programs that lead to lasting and commercially successful advertising partnerships.
Maintain deep knowledge and understanding of the finance category, market, advertising business, and trends.
Lead conversations with key internal partners to evaluate account performance, develop short and long-term strategies and discuss/act upon optimization opportunities.
Serve as a representative of The Atlantic brand in a positive, convincing, and enthusiastic manner.
Minimum 5 years experience in media sales with a successful track record selling partnerships that transcend traditional advertising
Strong relationships on both client and agency side
Ability to be proactive, take ownership, and work independently
Impeccable communication and relationship management skills, across both internal and external constituencies
A natural ability to invent and deliver convincing arguments through spoken and written word
A constitution that affords “grace under fire”—a calm, cool, and collected mind coupled with an innate sense of possibility
