    Unpaid Editorial Internship Opportunity with Vanity Fair Condé Nast, Fall 2013

    Description
    The Vanity Fair Features Department is offering a highly competitive and educational internship in New York.

    This opportunity within the Vanity Fair Features Department is an unpaid internship that will provide the student selected with first-hand exposure to the media and entertainment industries and will supplement classroom studies.

    An ideal Features Department intern candidate is a junior or senior at an accredited US college or university, eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship. A strong candidate should have an interest in communications, the entertainment industry, and popular culture, and should be pursuing a journalism, communications, or public relations degree, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

    The Vanity Fair Features intern will learn from experienced, talented professionals in the Vanity Fair Features and Editorial Departments. During this internship, interns will receive real-world, hands-on experience from knowledgeable professionals. Among other things, interns will shadow assistants and editors, assemble various lists of talent for upcoming features and covers, update multiple media lists, attend meet-and-greets with upcoming talent, correspond with publicists, and assist with projects related to the famed Vanity FairHollywood issue.

    Interns will have the opportunity to attend seminars and events throughout the semester that will introduce them to various components of the media and entertainment business. Interns will also have the opportunity to discuss learning objectives with their mentors and other professionals throughout the internship.

    Qualifications

    In addition to the items discussed above, interns must:

    Be currently enrolled in a 2 or 4 year accredited US college or university and eligible to receive academic credit or an academic letter of support for the internship.
    Be available to participate in a 12 or 13 week internship from September 9 to DecemberDecember 13 for approximately 35 hours per week during the academic year.
