    Location: Washington, DC 20037 US (Primary)

    Position Objective: Lead online engagement around a global information campaign, designed to inform, engage and influence foreign populations on the topic of climate change.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Perform a wide variety of duties related to community management on social media platforms.

    · Provide our online community with information and material relevant to climate change.

    · Engage community members in online discussions of topics relevant to our editorial plan. Solicit user-generated content from community members.

    · Promote our programs with the online community.

    · Stay abreast of developments and opportunities with social media tools and platforms. Other duties as required.

    · Add content to the site via a content management system, currently WordPress.

    · Create and edit content for consistent quality and editorial voice.

    · Ensure new content is published in a timely fashion.

    · Propose and create new content based on demand from external staff and other agency stakeholders

    · Monitor and report on the performance metrics of content

    · Monitor and spark conversations and comments from stakeholders to incorporate new features into the site

    · Create original graphics for use in the site

    · Devise innovative ways of presenting content, for instance info-graphics or video

    · Actively solicit feedback from stakeholders to incorporate new features into the site.

    · Maintain databases and create presentations/reports based upon relevant production and social media data

    · Perform other duties as may be assigned.

    Basic Qualifications:

    · 1 year of experience in environmental or climate change related work

    Minimum Qualifications:

    · Work experience related to online community management

    · Experience managing an organization’s presence on third-party platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter)

    · Experience with social-media based marketing campaigns

    · Experience with online outreach, maintaining relationships with web influencers

    · Knowledge of climate change issues and influential climate web sites and blogs

    · Ability to identify climate change experts and influencers who can foster online discussion

    · Experience aggregating and adapting content for social media activities

    · Ability to work independently and multi-task in high volume environment

    · Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships

    · Six months experience with CMS WordPress is preferred

    · Knowledge of HTML, CSS and analytics tools

    · Knowledge of community management and web publishing

    · Knowledge of Photoshop

    · Experience with content management systems

    · Familiarity with online communication tools including forums and blogs

    · Knowledge of social media trends and best practices

    · Excellent written and communication skills

    · Timely and accurate organizational skills.

    · Highly honed critical and creative thinking capabilities and analytical skills.

    · Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills required.

    · Ability to also have a flexible, team-oriented approach to work. Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues.

    · Ability to work independently and multi-task in high volume environment

    · Ability to obtain a secret clearance; active clearance preferred
