witf 89.5 is a full service public radio station covering a 17-county area in central Pennsylvania. We broadcast at 89.5 in Harrisburg, 99.7 in Lancaster and 93.3 in Chambersburg.

As a public radio affiliate we integrate the state and regional news we produce into the National news/magazines Morning Edition and All Things Considered to add a distinctively local voice to the programs. The news department covers stories of regional and statewide interest with an emphasis on producing content for our 14 daily newscasts.

Interns are an integral part of the news team, working cooperatively with hosts and reporters in virtually every part of the news gathering process. Once the interns have mastered the basics of these programs, they start by writing a news copy that's read by our anchors. They will help us generate story ideas, identify sources, then interview those sources for stories they will more or less produce independently.

Applicants should be dependable and self-motivated, and be enrolled in a college or university-level program related to communications or journalism. Our interns don't simply go "along for the ride," but instead become active members of the newsroom, contributing newscast stories and occasional feature-length pieces that air on witf .

    This internship is unpaid.

Interested applicants should send cover letter and resume through our website or mail to:
