FREELANCE NEWS ASSISTANT: NYC. ABC Radio is looking for dynamic, motivated individuals who are seeking a career in the broadcast news industry. Successful News Assistants have gone on to become writers, editors, producers and correspondents within ABC News and elsewhere. This job entails writing copy, editing audio, managing our audio website, assembling hourly news feeds and providing support to our affiliates across the country. Ideal candidates are quick learners with strong problem-solving, time-management and interpersonal skills. Hires will be working in a deadline-driven, high-energy 24/7 newsroom environment. Qualifications: Strong writing skills, proficiency with audio editing. Previous radio and/ or television experience is preferred.
