    Digital Producer

    Full-time

WNYC seeks a self-starting digital producer who loves writing, listening, collaborating and telling stories on all kinds of media platforms. You’ll be part of a team tasked with growing the on-demand audience of a public media company that has led the audio revolution from the start. We intend to maintain that lead by creating original and high-impact stories that move and engage people wherever they’re listening, reading, thinking, schmoozing or sharing. As a producer in the digital content team, you’ll be critical to the success of these efforts by making things that excite the minds of our existing and as-yet-to-be-discovered audience.

    Responsibilities:
Your job will be wide-ranging across three main areas.

    • Supporting our newsroom and our local and national shows, developing engagement projects with them, and creating ancillary content using video, audio and more.
    • Curating/managing our digital platforms/products, including the WNYC website and app, the Morning Brief and Hodgepod newsletters
    • Working with the NYPR archives, the Greene Space and new content development teams to produce original podcasts and video series

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in audio and digital content creation
    • Proven track record of launching and producing successful digital content (podcasts, video, editorials, etc.)
    • An understanding of, and respect for, the nuances, possibilities and limitations of social media platforms
    • Familiarity with Google analytics, and an interest in using data to understand our audience
    • Ability to balance quick turnaround projects against longer lead times
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively – depends on the day!
    • Equally comfortable working with software developers, radio producers, senior executives, pledge drive producers and fundraisers
    • Develops relationships easily, moves freely across organizational boundaries and knows how to lead without formal authority
    • A desire to grow within the organization and to learn new skills.
    • A sense of humor. An ability to say what’s on your mind.
