    PBS NewsHour is seeking a Producer, Politics who will serves as an integral member of the PBS NewsHour politics and election unit, overseeing the production of video segments for use on-air and a variety of online content, primarily focusing on the upcoming 2016 political season. Responsibilities include conceiving, developing and executing stories for field segments as well as studio discussion segments and identifying, pre-interviewing, and booking guests. Additionally, this individual will gather and write background briefing materials for anchors and others. While the primary focus is election coverage, general news and feature assignments maybe assigned as well. Position may include travel throughout the cycle as needed. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of four (4) years of producing original news content, preferably for a national news outlet. Preference for experience covering campaigns.

     

    This is a full time, but temporary position with an anticipated end date of on/about January 31, 2017.
