We are seeking a talented, high-energy experienced editor with excellent news judgment, strong writing skills, and experience managing virtual teams to help direct our global team of nearly 40 journalists and take the lead role in a project expanding our coverage of trafficking, forced labour and modern-day slavery. You will be UK-based and work with the Thomson Reuters Foundation’s award-winning global news team to produce unique stories that have impact and bring under-reported human rights issues to light. You will play the major role in our trafficking and slavery coverage, both writing and commissioning stories to raise awareness about this issue in South Asia and globally and promoting the Foundation’s work to shed light on this under-reported issue. This is  a growing team and needs a leader with strong management skills, plenty of energy and ideas.

You will manage a growing team that produces exclusive news on under-reported stories. You will work with a team of journalists and freelancers around the world to uncover stories of real lives impacted by climate change, human trafficking, a lack of property rights, and discrimination against women and other vulnerable communities. You will also help promote our stories and the work of the Thomson Reuters Foundation to an international audience and represent the Foundation at events to promote our work.

If you are excited about working for an international news organisation that has extraordinary reach and you want to have impact, this could be the job for you. The position requires a proven track record in pioneering journalism and management and a desire to make a real difference on humanitarian issues. This is a growing team and needs a leader with strong management skills, plenty of energy and ideas.
