    Job Description

    To plan, develop, write and produce programs and new media content for radio broadcast and online distribution. Position will focus on rural health and society issues.

    - Report, write and produce radio spots, features and online content.
    - Liaise with partners on program ideas and content.
    - Produce and curate online content, including maintaining and writing a blog on the issues of rural health and wealth.
    - Conduct community and outreach through new media, social media and community events.
    - Supervise the work of student reporters and producers.
    - Work on and with KBIA News team on daily and breaking news coverage as needed.
    - May host or announce radio programs.
    - Teach an introductory journalism course in a classroom setting.

    Salary

    Salary Range: $16.92 - $21.71 per hour

    Grade: GGS-008

    University Title: Senior Media Producer

    Shift

    Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. Occasional nights and weekends as needed.

    Minimum Qualifications

    A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Fluency in new-media production and social media.
    A strong interest in the subjects of rural health and rural life.
    A Bachelor’s degree in a communications-related area.
    Public radio broadcasting/production experience.
