Project X (working title) is a user's guide to the news produced by the beat reporters and subject area experts who know it best.

We'll have regular coverage of everything from healthcare to House of Cards, but instead of letting that reporting gather dust in an archive, we'll use it to build and continuously update a comprehensive set of explainers on the topics we cover. We want to create the single best resources for news consumers anywhere.

In particular, we’re looking for health writers who are obsessively knowledgeable about their subjects and have the ability to do daily reporting, build out thorough explainers, and write ambitious feature pieces.

We want people who can help us think through novel ways to cover the ever-changing world of health and medicine. That might mean a bit less focus on being first to write up the latest study about multivitamins or medical errors and a bit more thinking about how to build out a usable body of knowledge on what the medical profession actually knows about multivitamins and medical errors.

We’d love to hear from health writers who cover a range of different fields -- as well as working doctors with a knack for clear, lively writing. But curiosity is important here -- we’d like people who feel comfortable learning about and writing on a variety of subjects, even if they have a few obsessions and areas of deep expertise. Versatility is important, too: we’re looking for writers who are excited to cover everything from public health to medical research to superbugs.
