T he award-winning India-West Newspaper has an immediate opening for a full-time reporter at their offices in San Leandro, Calif.

Duties include reporting on the Indian American community including interviews, profiles, covering local events and following up on story leads, writing headlines and captions, some rewrites and editing of articles, and helping to upload content to our website.

Must be enthusiastic about covering the Indian American community.

Qualifications: One-two years’ experience with a U.S.-based newspaper preferred; must have knowledge of India and Indian culture; knowledge of Hindi preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Word; Indesign experience helpful; B.A. in Journalism or English. Excellent command of the English language and immaculate grammar a must. Must have work permit in the U.S.
