Vice President, Creative Development - NYC

    Position Overview

We are seeking an exceptional creative professional to join our growing team of campaign and creative services professionals in New York City as we approach the 2016 elections.  Your job: help our team develop memorable concepts for political and issue advocacy direct mail (and other media, e.g., TV and radio ads).  If you generate ideas quickly, write killer headlines and dream up memorable visuals that our art department can execute, we want to talk with you.

The job is based in New York City and requires a proven ability in the arenas of advertising and marketing—political or otherwise.  If you’re tired of selling cars and cameras and think you can sell progressive candidates and causes, this job is for you.

    Skills necessary:

    ·         Ideation:  You can generate strong creative concepts for direct mail (and other media) quickly.  Strong concepts are ones that drive our clients’ messages and are memorable for their intended audience.

    ·         Professional responsibility:  Ability to meet deadlines, keep track of multiple projects and succeed in a fast-paced environment.

    ·         Collaboration:  Much of our team’s creative work is collaborative—account executives, writers, the art department and you sitting around a conference room table.  The ability to work well with others is essential.

    Experience necessary:

We don’t care how many years of experience you have.  We care about the quality of work you can do on day one.  Resumes with five-to-ten years’ experience as an advertising copywriter who can think visually will stand out.  But we’re not wedded to any particular background.

    Attitudes necessary:

    ·         Passion for good work

    ·         Willingness to work long hours and weekends during peak periods (depending on the year, March to the end of October)

    ·         Team orientation. No egomaniacs need apply.

Qualified candidates should submit their resume and cover letter plus three to five samples of their work, accompanied by an explanation of the role they played in getting to the final deliverable, at https://berlinrosen.recruiterbox.com/jobs/fk0hgc9. BerlinRosen offers very competitive salary, benefits and an opportunity for a performance-based bonus.

BerlinRosen is committed to building and maintaining a diverse staff and recognizes that its continued success depends on hiring and retaining high-quality, creative professionals with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Opportunities for advancement exist, and BerlinRosen is committed to helping all staff develop and grow. Women, people of color and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.

Desired start date: March 1, 2016
