    WNYC Studios seeks an innovative social media producer to engage and expand the audience for our expanding portfolio of podcasts.

    You must: Love podcasts; love New York City (can be love/hate); thrive in a fast-paced environment; check Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc obsessively; love exploring new apps; create original, native content for social platforms; be nimble and funny and collaborative and believe that social media has the power to transform how people consume media and entertainment in the mobile age.

    Our department is extremely collaborative and works on various podcasts at once, from early-stage pilots to powerhouse brands like Radiolab. You might be creating GIFs for a new show launch one day, spearheading a UGC project for Note to Self the next, and closing out the week by moderating an AMA with Alec Baldwin.

    If your interests are wide ranging, you thrive on variety and you enjoy everything from live tweeting to video editing, then this might be the job for you. This position reports to the social media director.

    Responsibilities:

    -Maintain and post on show-specific and WNYC-branded Twitter and Facebook feeds, among others, keeping track of reach and engagement, and delivering reports on growth and best practices to producers and the social media director.
    - Contribute ideas for, and produce, custom social media content (GIFs, Audiograms, videos, Facebook Lives, etc.) to create opportunities for fans to engage.
    - Launch new accounts as needed, finding and engaging audiences from scratch.
    - Attend live events to capture content.
    - Work to build and maintain clusters of fandoms around our content.
    - Manage a content calendar for all our podcasts, including tentpole events, videos launches, live shows, press events, etc.
    - Liaise with show producers weekly to get the latest information on upcoming episodes, opportunities to engage talent, and to script in-episode callouts that engage listeners.
    - Develop show-specific strategies for all social channels to increase engagement, boost on-demand listening, and lift fan acquisition
    - Manage social media analytics, and work with marketing to execute efficient and effective paid social media campaigns.

    Qualifications:

    - At least two years experience on the social media team of a fast-paced, idea-driven media and/or entertainment environment.

    -Demonstrated success in creating native, engaging social content that has deepened engagement and expanded reach

    -Superb writing skills showing originality and humor

    -Proficiency with video editing software

    -Proficiency with audio editing software a plus

    -Proficiency with a range of social media platforms and awareness of new platforms

    -Proficiency with analytics and data tools

    -Familiarity with HTML and content management systems

    -Scrupulous attention to detail and organizational skills

    -Excellent communication skills, written and spoken

    -Effective time-management and ability to produce excellent work on deadline

    -Ability to collaborate closely with others and thrive in a team environment

    -Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

    -Experience working with talent preferred
