Quartz - New York, NY - Internship

Quartz is seeking interns to contribute over the summer to its creative storytelling and innovative journalism. 

Your responsibilities would include pitching stories and taking daily assignments, as well as working on special projects. There are also opportunities to collaborate with reporters on stories, and to contribute to our apps. In addition to reporting and writing skills, the ideal candidate will be well versed in global news and trending topics, and will have a strong sense of how to write a headline and frame a story for various social media platforms. 

This is a paid, full-time position from mid-June to the end of August.

• A cover letter describing the “Quartziest” thing about you, as well as a few Quartz stories you liked and didn’t like, and why

You are welcome to indicate which area or areas you are interested in. Currently we are considering placement on the following desks:

• Video
• Science (New York or San Francisco)
• General assignment / news reporting (New York)
• Visual culture (photo criticism, commentary, short photo essays)
• Things (data-led storytelling, data visualization)
• Growth (social media)
• Africa (based in New York)
• Europe (based in London)

This internship is available in New York, San Francisco, or London.
