    The PBS NewsHour is seeking a Senior Producer, Politics. In this position, you will lead our daily political reports for our nightly show and website. We’re looking for someone who can pitch stories daily, but also think long term and forward plan. You will play a key role in ensuring our legacy of providing viewers solid, reliable and balanced reporting continues.

    As our Senior Producer, Politics, you will:

    ·         Participate and contribute during editorial planning meetings
    ·         Supervisor production of stories in our studio and in the field
    ·         Cover major Supreme Court decisions and other significant developments in law and justice
    ·         Manage a team of producers and Production Assistants, including mentoring our rising editorial staff

    You have:

    ·         Experience producing network quality day of air stories and longer form features
    ·         The ability to work independently and adjust to changing assignments
    ·         Experience working under deadline pressure successfully
    ·         Outstanding time management, organizational and project planning skills
    ·         A minimum 10 years of experience working in broadcast journalism and covering national politics and campaigns
    ·         Bachelor’s degree/equivalent combination of training and experience
