Anyone who discovers Ashoka -journalists, entrepreneurs, thought leaders, staff -recognizes immediately that this network is an extraordinary grab-bag of stories of human endeavor and potential, of new ideas that put empathy powerfully into action. Singly and together, these stories tell the bigger story of an “everyone a changemaker” world where people of all ages and backgrounds are stepping up to solve problems with innovation, energy and drive. The goals of our communications effort: bring this larger narrative to life, land it powerfully and imaginatively in the U.S. for a range of audiences existing and new, and make Ashoka magnetic as the world’s home of changemakers.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Seek, design and build media and corporate partnerships to further amplify the changemaker message in the U.S. and globally
    • Leverage and amplify the existing opportunities at Ashoka to increase our marketing reach and engagement through existing partnerships of allied teams
    • Support, elevate and package the programmatic work of colleagues and partners, including shaping key products like quarterly partner updates, high-profile events, and a national speakers series
    • Energize and radically grow our presence across digital platforms with high quality content, authentic tone, and a consistent daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly pulse
    • Maintain an editorial calendar across teams and program areas and with input from colleagues
    • Continuously scout and triage insights, opportunities, and news from the full U.S. network (including 230 Fellows) and share with a network that reaches millions

    Skills/qualities:

    • Self-starter, strong self-permission and collegiality
    • Team-builder, thrives in external relationships and networking
    • Passion for and fluency in digital content and platforms
    • Highly curious about the world and what new ideas will define our future
    • Strong organizational skills, loves a well-oiled machine, also can flexibly work with entrepreneurs
    • Strong communicator, empathetic and skillful listener, thrives in teams of diverse people
    • Fluent in InDesign, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Dotmailer and Salesforce a plus
    • Ethical, deeply trustworthy
    • Eager to contribute to a team that is highly ethical, collaborative, very focused on creating a world where everyone can be an effective changemaker
