The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is seeking an experienced academic administrator for the position of associate dean in the nationally ranked College of Journalism and Mass Communications. The associate dean must have the experience, energy, knowledge and organizational skills to keep the college on the cutting edge of digital innovation. The associate dean will help create a Center for Mobile Media and support the newly created Drone Journalism Lab.
The associate dean is a partner with the dean and is experienced in using academic processes and procedures to help the college achieve its goals of preparing students to work in a culture of constant change. The associate dean will focus on relations within the college and the university.
We are seeking an experienced academic administrator who knows how to develop, nurture and manage relationships with the faculty to help the college achieve its goals. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to think systemically, administer collegially, and advocate effectively for the university, the college and its faculty. The position requires effective interpersonal skills, financial acumen and visionary thinking necessary to establish and lead others to greatness. The associate dean should be a recognized professional or academic leader and scholar in a field of study relevant to journalism, advertising, public relations, mass communication, digital communications or an equivalent area.
